Salut a tous!

The English language site Call of Duty Community RGN announced calls for the 31st of January 2009 for a worldwide server boycott of Call of Duty: World at War. The goal of the action is hoped that the developer of the World War Shooter, Treyarch , which has for some time been requested to announce the date when Patch 1.2 would be released. "Now is the time for the Community to jointly act as one and show resolve!", was requested in the announcement.

The proclamation also was taken up by mitterlweile of the German CoD website Call of Duty information base or BlackMonkeys. de. However, just how many server operators will join the boycott has yet to be seen. The action is not the first public outcry of the Call of Duty Community: There was a similar outcry back in November 2005 because of the missing Anti-Cheat-protection in Call of Duty 2, a similar platform. At that time developer Infinity Ward had known what was needed and in despite many promises for months failed to submit the Punkbuster support demanded by the players.

In Call of Duty: World at War the demanded the list of fixes the RGN Community has asked for is clearly far more extensive. The CoD players demand above all else the removal of numerous problems in the redirect with the Online servers, the missing Linux binaries, a record function for leagues to use and much more. You can find the complete translated wish list on the RGN site.

The CoD Community sees the main reason for the dwindling popularity of the game in the deficient practices of Treyarch: "In the light of continuing empty server for CoD 5: WaW we are concerned that despite its large potential it may be bottoming out; currently many players are leaving the platform due to lack of new Maps and Mods and missing important functions required for league play of CoD5: WaW. If something does not occur as quickly as possible, CoD5 : WaW, may well follow the same path as MOH :Airborne followed which could perhaps lead to the end of the entire series of CoD."

Merci a tous d'avance,
